How to Embed Word documents in blog posts ?

Microsoft word is a very popular word processor which is a product of Microsoft as a part of their Office package (other software are excel, powerpoint etc).  Microsoft Word files have a file extension of  .doc and .docx. As blogging has become a popular way of communication today, there are many circumstances where you will want to embed a word document in the blog post (blogger or wordpress). The steps given below illustrate the procedure to embed a word document in a blog post which will work with any blogging software.

Step1: First we need to navigate to Google Drive and login with your gmail account.

NOTE: If you do not have a gmail account, it is time you create one as you are missing out on several free applications provided by Google including gmail (their email service).

Step2: After logging in you need to upload doc or docx file from your local system by clicking on NEW > File upload option as shown below.

Step3: Now choose your selected doc or docx file as shown

Step4: When uploading the doc file you can see the progress at the bottom of the page
             as shown.

Step5: Once the doc file is uploaded open the file using google docs (double click on the file) and then from the File Menu select File > Publish to the web option

Step6:  Then a dialog will appear  as shown below. From the dialog  window select "Embed" tab and click "Publishbutton.

Step7: Now copy the code in the Embed block as shown in the box.

Step 8: Open your blog post in either blogger or wordpress editor whichever is your case and paste this embed code in the position that you want to embed the word document.

The methodology shown here can be used with other formats as well which are supported by Google drive.
